NSW School Support Staff Award

We are thrilled to announce that our Student Support Officer, Mr Argue, has been announced as a winner of the NSW School Support Staff Awards in the Impact on Students category. This is a major achievement as Mr Argue was one of 540 nominations and he was recognised for the extraordinary scope and impact of his work at our school. Through his extensive wellbeing expertise, mentoring and leadership, Mr Argue provides meaningful support to students, families and staff, and contributes significantly to a safe, inclusive and connected school community. We are extremely proud of this well-deserved recognition of the important role Mr Argue plays at The Forest High School.

Annual Ski Trip

Winter wonderland! From 4-7 August 2026, 40 of our Year 10 students were taken on our school's annual ski trip to the Snowy Mountains accompanied by their teachers, and what a fabulous time they had. Staying at a lodge in Jindabyne, they enjoyed 3 days of skiing, plus evening games and activities at the lodge. With blue skies, great snow, fun and friendship this was definitely a highlight for these lucky students and the memories they have made will stay with them for a long time.

Year 10 Commerce Market Day

On 18 August 2026 our Year 10 Commerce students put their business skills into action at their Commerce Market Day, with a fantastic range of products, tasty food and creative ideas. The day was a great success and showcased the students' ability to work effectively as a team while developing valuable skills in running a business. Planning, marketing, managing finances and serving customers - students demonstrated initiative, organisation and teamwork.

Takarazuka Kita High School Visit

From 27 July-4 August we welcomed students from Takarazuka Kita High School in Japan for a week of friendship, learning and cultural exchange. They joined a range of classes, shared lunches and spent time with their Australian buddies. This visit provided a valuable opportunity for students from both schools to learn from one another, celebrate their cultures and create memories and friendships that will extend far beyond the classroom.

Official Opening

On Friday 15 May 2026 The Forest High School was officially opened by NSW Premier Chris Minns alongside Wakehurst MP Michael Regan. Our Principal Mr Lawler and student representatives, led by our Captains and Vice Captains, greeted our guests before a ceremonial ribbon cutting. The Premier and visitors were also given a tour of the wonderful new school facilities as well as visiting some of our classrooms to talk to students and see the new school in action.

Brand new CAPA facilities

Our Dance and Drama students have embraced the dance studio and theatre at our new school site and look forward to performing for our school community. Music students have enjoyed the Music spaces with plenty of opportunities for collaboration in the learning common and studio space. Visual Arts students now have larger, dedicated workshops and our band program have begun rehearsals in the theatre

Year 7 Camp

Our lovely Year 7 cohort successfully navigated the dusty roads, humid heat and high-flying activities of the Great Aussie Bush Camp at Tea Gardens from 23-25 February. They had a fantastic three days of experiencing a wide range of activities including archery, flying foxes, giant swing, high ropes and rock & crate climbing.
