Year 10 Day of Change Science Expo

For the past 4 weeks, Year 10 have been studying mechanisms to change human behaviour to improve the environment. In groups, they have been designing a 'change campaign' of their choosing - picking an issue that means something to them and trying to change human behaviour surrounding the issue. The culmination of this was the Day of Change expo held in the hall on today. Groups manned their stations as teachers and junior classes made their way around the displays. Some excellent examples included

• campaigns on buying fruit that is in season
• wearing sunscreen that won't bleach coral reefs
• adopting a pet rather than buying one

All groups were competing for a variety of prizes, including the coveted people's choice - decided by the audience of junior students. This was a month-long project and Year 10 have put in a massive effort for some amazing results - congratulations to all.
