There are moments in life that stay with you forever, and for our Forest High School Intercultural Ambassadors, that was yesterday at Kimberwalli Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Centre, in Whalan. Students came with open minds and hearts as they partnered with new and old friends from Chifley College Mount Druitt to share in laughs, lunch and loads of storytelling. Now in its second year running, the community-based program reached new heights, as students engaged in transformative Shakespearean drama, martial arts fitness, and hip-hop workshops to help them break down stereotypes and engender an empowered sense of community and belonging. Thank you to all TFHS students who attended, you made us all so proud with your willingness to connect and courage to try new cultural experiences. In the words of highly acclaimed hip-hop artists, Deej Ay and YP "This is amazing. I wish we had this when we were young. It's helping young people to change their lives for the better"!
